Ground penetrating radar, design application and challenges
Back to page «Young Scientist Schools»
Ground penetrating radar [GPR] is an example of a short range radar [SRR]. This presentation considers its design, applications, those aspects of its environment and realisation that affect the detection performance of the radar and the engineering challenges that need to be met to achieve increases in system performance.
Many sensors can be considered from the point of view of target detection, recognition and identification [DRI]. At present GPR has achieved useful detection capability but has some way to go before robust recognition and identification can be shown.
