Prof. Aleksandr Serkov

Aleksandr Serkov was born on October 1, 1949 in Kharkiv. In 1974, after serving in the Armed Forces of the USSR, he worked at the Scientific Research and Project Design Institute “Molniya”: as a senior engineer, the Head of a sector, the Research Fellow and Head of the laboratory. Since 1996, he has been holding the position of the Associate Professor, the Professor and the Head of Information Systems Department at NTU “KhPI”.
In 1992, Aleksandr Anatolievich defended his thesis in the specialty “Arms and military equipment”, and in 2007 – his doctoral thesis on the same specialty. The research field is stability and vitality of information systems in terms of power electromagnetic radiation. The scientific direction is the general theory and practice of compliance with electromagnetic compatibility.
Prof. Serkov is a member of ERPC “Infocommunications”, Academic Council of NTU “KhPI”, Scientific Research and Project Design Institute “Molniya”, the editorial boards of the journals “Applied Electronics”, “Problems of Telecommunications” and “Visnyk of NTU “KhPI”, the expert of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on accreditation of higher education institutions in “Computer Science”, the expert of Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on examination of theses on Radio Engineering and Electronics, a member of two academic councils of thesis defense in the specialty “Telecommunication systems and networks”.
He was awarded a bronze medal of ENEA of the USSSR and gold and commemorative medals of the Academy of Sciences of Applied Radio Electronics and the honorary certificate of local government. He is the honored Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Applied Radio Electronics and the honored inventor of Ukraine. He is the author of over 350 scientific papers, including 7 textbooks and nearly 100 patents of invention in Ukraine.
