UWBUSIS-2014
The seventh International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals (UWBUSIS-2014)
was held in Kharkiv, the largest industrial, academic and research center of Ukraine, from September 15 till 19, 2014. The venue of the conference was V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, the well-known academic center of Eastern Ukraine founded as early as in 1804. The reports about the previous meetings can be found in the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, December 2002, pp. 92-94, February 2005, pp. 193-196, February 2007, pp. 134 – 138, October 2009, pp. 186 – 225, October 2011, pp. 192 – 195, April 2013, pp. 269 – 274.

The Conference provided wide international forum for discussing recent advances in the theory investigations, computer modeling, experiments, technology and applications of ultrawideband and ultrashort impulse signals. The conference first started as a workshop in 2002. It was organized due to joint efforts of Kharkov IEEE Chapter, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and National Antenna Association of Ukraine. Co-organizers of the conference are Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics NASU (Kharkiv) and Radio Astronomy Institute NASU (Kharkiv).
The Conference was organized under the direction of Professor Nikolay Kolchigin from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and Professor Yakov Shifrin from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. They held the Opening Ceremony on September 16. IEEE Life Fellow Yakov Shifrin being active participant of WWII shared the touching memories of his youth in the welcome speech that impressed all conference participants in the light of current situation in Ukraine.

In this year 40 scientific papers from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Turkey and Italy were presented on the conference. There were held 3 plenary sessions for invited paper, 6 section sessions with the interesting reports of famous specialists and young scientists in the area of ultrawideband signals and in adjacent problems, and Young Scientists School during three working conference days.
Firstly our conference had remote participants and some papers were presented online.
